Delhi Riots: Death toll raised 53 as Condition is Normal but dead bodies are recovered so far
- Both houses, have adjourned multiple times since it open for second budget session, due opposition consistent uproar on demand of discussion on floor of house.
- Amid the uproar in houses, Speaker constituted an all-party member committee, headed by Speaker himself,
- While Govt has given date for discussion on 11th and 12th of Mar in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha respectively.
- Lok Sabha Passed the suspension order of 7 MPs from congress.
- Delhi Police met with IG Meerut Zone, and Commissioner Ghaziabad and other UP Police officers, amid doubt that most of rioters have come from Meerut and nearby areas.
- Multiples unverified videos are coming surface daily, in which rioters are looking clearly and identifying and also how violence could be erupted. After proper verification such videos, police may act accordingly.

The Afghan security forces intercepted and stopped the protesters from proceeding to the Indian embassy.

SC to delivered verdict in land acquisition compensation case today
A five judge Bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Justice Arun Mishra, will delivered the judgment on Fri in a case concerning the grant of compensation under Section 24 of the land acquisition law of 2013.
SC said that landowners who refuse to accept compensation can’t press for cancellation of acquisition.
- Last year, Justice Arun Mishra, heading the Bench, had refused to recuse himself from hearing the case related to the interpretation of Section 24 of the Right to Fair Compensation, Transparency in Land Acquisition and Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act 2013.
- The bench began hearing five matters related to the land acquisition case from Oct 15 last year. As the constitution bench began hearing the matters, a farmers’ association had sought the recusal of Justice Mishra, alleging conflict of interest.
The association sought Justice Mishra’s recusal on the ground of judicial propriety saying that the bench is examining the correctness of a judgment, which was also authored by him.
SC refuses to interfere with PIL, filed by social activist Yogita Bhayana, who sought a direction to quash the sedition charges registered against a school, teacher & parent for a play against CAA in Bidar, Karnataka.
Supreme Court grants interim protection from arrest to accused Gautam Navlakha, Anand Teltumbde, Bhima Koregaon case: SC today granted interim protection from arrest to both accused till Mar 16th, when the SC will hear the matter again.
RBI Imposed Moratorium on Yes Bank, caps withdrawals at Rs 50,000
- RBI unveils ‘Scheme of Reconstruction’ for crisis-ridden Yes Bank.
- “Since 2017, RBI has been continuously monitoring Yes Bank. It noticed that there were governance issues and weak compliance in the bank”: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
- Earlier in the day, sources said SBI along with some other financial institutions would bail out capital-starved Yes Bank, with the government giving the go-ahead.
- The Reserve Bank on Thursday imposed a moratorium on the capital-starved Yes Bank and capped withdrawals at Rs 50,000 per account till further orders.
- The board of Yes Bank has also been superseded with immediate effect, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said in a late evening statement. Former SBI CFO Prashant Kumar has been appointed as administrator for Yes Bank.
The latest development comes six months after the regulator did the same with the city-based
- cooperative lender PMC Bank after a large scam was unearthed.
- Yes Bank has been grappling with mounting bad loans.
- PM Narendra Modi “must convince the nation, not merely through words but by deeds, that he is cognizant of the dangers we face and reassure the nation that he can help us tide over this as smoothly as we can,” the former PM writes, describing what he calls a “grim and morose” situation in the country.

- The RBI Governor said that the central bank have a scheme to revive the beleaguered lender. “Your Money Is Safe,” Sitharaman Assures Yes Bank Depositors.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra CM Udhav Thackeray has instructed chief secretary to ensure govt funds are deposited only in nationalized banks and not private lenders: Deputy CM Ajit Pawar.
Corona Virus….Govt on High Alert
- Sanjeeva Kumar, Special Secretary (Health), Union Health Ministry: One more COVID19 case in Delhi (resident of Uttam Nagar) has been confirmed, taking the total number of positive cases in the country to 31. The patient has a travel history from Thailand and Malaysia.
- Airlines globally are set to lose in passenger revenues of up to $113 billion, if the Corona Virus spreads further, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) has said today.
- Indian Army: In consonance with various advisories issued by the Government, Indian Army HQ has issued detailed instructions with respect to preparations & emergency response in tackling the COVID-19 virus.
- University Grants Commissions (UGC) issues advisory to universities on Coronavirus; says, “Avoid large gathering on campus, any student/staff with travel history to COVID-19 affected countries or in contact with an infected person in last 28 days should be home quarantined for 14 days.
Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Puri announced that the first flight from Iran is expected to land inthe country late on March 6 and would bring around 300 swabs of Indians for testing.
The Income Tax Department has summoned Congress party treasurer Ahmed Patel, in a case about alleged undeclared party collections and election expenses of over Rs 550 crore.
Patel told Indian Express that he will be responding to the summons “soon”, and has not done so yet because he’s been busy with parliamentary work and was unwell. “Such contributions are received by every political party and I will respond to the summons soon, probably after the upcoming Parliament session,” he said.
Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik has written a letter to PM Narendra Modi saying ‘to nominate at least one Shiv Sena member as trustee of Ram Mandir Trust, considering the contribution made by the party led by Bal Thackeray to Ram Mandir movement’.
However, no trustee nominated so far is from BJP or any other political party.

No Passport for Corrupt ‘Babus’: Government
- Government employees under suspension or granted sanction of prosecution over corruption charges will not be able to get a passport, according to an official order.
- The move follows a review of the existing guidelines by the Personnel Ministry, in consultation with the Central Vigilance Commission and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
- It is required to check the vigilance clearance of such government servants for grant of passport, said the order issued by the Personnel Ministry to secretaries of all central government departments.
- Accordingly, it has been decided that vigilance clearance can be withheld if an officer is under suspension or a charge-sheet has been filed in a court by the investigating agency in a criminal case, it said.
The section allows authorities to refuse passports to an applicant if his/her presence outside India may prejudice the friendly relations of India with any foreign country, or if the central government is of the opinion that the issue of travel document
- to the applicant will not be in the public interest, among others.
- Passports can also be refused in case a warrant or summons for appearance or a warrant for arrest of the applicant has been issued by a court under any law for the time being in force or that an order prohibiting the departure from India of the applicant has been made by any such court, according to the Act.
